NARHU participated in the “Mutual Learning Conference on integration of migrants”, held on 30/11/2021 organized by European commission

During the event the partner NARHU, discussed evidence-based and innovative practices in the integration of people with a migrant background with focus on fast-track labour market integration of refugees and their families and housing solutions.

The EC accepted that the term: “people with migrant background” covers a broad spectrum of people: third country nationals, applicants for and beneficiaries of international protection, stateless persons; persons with undetermined nationality and EU citizens with a migrant background (who have a third-country migrant background through their foreign-born parents).

The EC’s DG Regional and Urban Policy  presented  the “2021-2027 Toolkit on EU funds for the integration of people with a migrant background”.

The future objectives of ESF are to directly support people and reforms in the following fields:

  • EMPLOYMENT – through  access to employment of all jobseekers; modernising labour market institutions and services; gender-balanced labour market participation, work/life balance; adaptation of workers & enterprises, well-adapted working environment, active & healthy ageing;
  • EDUCATION TRAINING –  improving the quality, effectiveness and labour market relevance of education and training systems; promoting equal access to and completion of, quality and inclusive education; lifelong learning, re- and upskilling, anticipating change and new skills requirements;
  • SOCIAL INCLUSION –  active inclusion; promoting socio-economic integration of third-country nationals, including migrants; promoting socio-economic integration of marginalised communities such as the Roma; equal and timely access to services; social protection, healthcare systems and long term care; social integration of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion; addressing material deprivation, including accompanying measures.
