European Award for Innovative Training was given to the project “Speech Pathology Tools”
The new school year started with incredible news about Leonardo da Vinci First Private School-Ruse, Angel Kanchev University of Ruse and NARHU-Plovdiv, which are the Bulgarian partners in the international project “Speech Pathology Tools”.
The project “Speech and Language Pathology Interactive Tools for Teachers at Initial Education” /, “Innovative tools for teachers and children in primary education” /, 2017-1-BG01-KA201-036295, funded by the Erasmus + program, is among the awarded projects with the European Award for Innovative Learning in the category “Early Childhood Education and Care”.
The award was given for the first time in the current 2021 to completed projects with a focus on distance and blended learning.
The European Innovative Learning Award aims to demonstrate outstanding teaching practices implemented under the Erasmus + program and to give appreciation to teachers and their schools who have made a major contribution to the development of the teaching profession.
The project coordinator was Leonardo da Vinci First Private School-Ruse, and the partners in the three-year cooperation were:
- Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse, Bulgaria;
- Nottingham Trent University, Great Britain;
- PhoenixKM BVBA, Belgium;
- National Association of Professionals Working with People with Disabilities (NARHU), Bulgaria;
- Software development company SoftQNR, Republic of Serbia;
- University Rehabilitation Institute, Republic of Slovenia;
- REDVET – an international-nongovernmental and nonprofit- association for research and development of education and training, Turkey.
The Speech Pathology Tools project has created an online tool for recognizing speech disorders to help parents, kindergarten and primary school teachers, with the aim of early detection of speech disorders in children. The online application developed within the project offers various interactive tools for testing and practicing speaking skills – tests with fun activities for children, flash cards and worksheets for practicing problem sounds. The application is completely free and available in Bulgarian, as well as in all other partner languages.
In the context of the ongoing epidemiological situation and the introduced restrictive measures in 2021 the ceremony of awarding the European Prize for Innovative Learning will be held virtually, on 20.10.2021 under the auspices of Ms. Maria Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation and Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
